What has been proposed
The Basel Convention Secretariat reports that Norway proposed deleting plastic-waste entry B3011 from Annex IX. The proposal was communicated to parties on 16 October 2026 for consideration at the eighteenth Conference of the Parties in 2027.
Why classification matters
The current framework distinguishes waste categories and conditions. Check material composition, contamination, destination and the requirements of the countries concerned. Calling a material recyclable is not sufficient.
Prepare material information
Our practical suggestion is to retain feedstock descriptions, sorting and processing records, and output information. Equipment selection does not grant shipping or import permission.
